  Range Anxiety

I'm thinking through an electric vehicle purchase. Have any current owners ever gone too far and been stranded by a low battery? What would your options be at that point?

  Air Sealing
Posted by: BobRomick - 07-20-2017, 12:31 AM - Forum: Energy Efficiency - No Replies

My friend is hesitant to have air sealing done because he heard that sealing a house too tight leads to moisture issues and other sick building issues. How can I re-assure him that this would not be an issue?

Are residential solar installations in Tompkins County exempt from property taxes?
Posted by: karimbeers - 02-23-2017, 06:55 PM - Forum: Solar Energy - Replies (1)

On this Solar to the People page it says that in Tompkins County solar installations are exempt from property taxes EXCEPT for in:

  • Enfield and Lansing
  • school taxes for the Ithaca City School District
Can anyone confirm or deny or correct this?

First Meeting: Ithaca Area Hunting and Conservation Meetup
Posted by: AvidApe - 02-06-2017, 11:48 PM - Forum: Fishing - No Replies

The Ithaca Area Hunting & Conservation Group is proud to announce its first meetup.

Join us Monday, February 13th from 6-8pm at the Cornell Cooperative Extension building (615 Willow Ave, Ithaca, NY 14850, Ithaca, NY).

The first meeting will be a great opportunity for us to get to know each other and set the course for future meetings based on peoples' needs and goals. The aim of this group is to provide a platform for connecting aspiring hunters with experienced mentors; create a conscious and inclusive culture around conservationism, sustainability, and the field to table lifestyle; and open up opportunities for unique experiences and skill building for all. Other outdoor activities will be included as well.

We will host workshops and skill sharing events that delve into an array of topics that go beyond hunting, so you should get something out of it even if hunting isn't right for you. You don't have to be a hunter to appreciate the positive impacts of the North American Model of Wildlife Conservation and Management and to support our efforts.

Please consider joining the group and attending our meetings.
Please RSVP via the Meetup page so we have an idea of who's coming:
